For teens

What stays between you and Kenyatta

A parent signs you up. That does not mean they get a play-by-play. Here is how it works.

  • What you say in a session

It stays between you and Kenyatta. She does not repeat it to your parents, your school or your friends.

  • What your parent does hear

That you came, how often, and how things are going in broad terms. Not the details. If you want a parent to know something, you can decide together how to say it.

  • When Kenyatta has to tell someone

If she believes you or someone else is in serious danger, if the law requires her to report that a child is being hurt, or if a court orders it. When she can, she tells you first, and she shares only what is needed.

  • If someone walks in

Use Quick exit at the top of any page. It leaves this site and opens a weather page. It does not erase your browser history; a private window keeps this visit out of it.

Straight answers

What teens ask us

Do my parents know I am coming?

Yes. A parent or guardian signs consent before your first session, so they know you have started.

Can my parents read my notes?

Kenyatta keeps session notes private and shares them only as the law allows. If a parent asks to see records, she talks it through with you first.

What if I tell Kenyatta something about home?

She listens first. If someone is hurting you, or you are in danger, she has to act to keep you safe, and she explains what that means before you tell her anything you need to understand.

Can I stop coming?

You can tell Kenyatta you want to stop. She will talk with you and a parent about it, and she helps you find someone else if you want a different counselor.
